FORECAST: The Owens Valley, Mammoth and Mono County

So our roller coaster March continues. Were as Wednesday we experienced temps 10 – 20 degrees below normal, today those temps will be some 10 – 12 degrees above normal. This is all do to high pressure off the coast. Then those temperatures moderate back a bit on Saturday and Sunday, as the ridge pulls slowly eastward. The next set of weather makers arrives Sunday night and early next week, as a longwave trough sets up camp off the PACNW coast. Most of the moisture will be in Northern California and Oregon, but lighter amounts could filter down as far as Mono County and the Owens Valley. These systems are not particularly cold or carry much dynamics. So stay tuned for updates.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Mostly sunny then mostly clear in the evening. Highs 66 – 73 and lows 39 – 44. Winds NW 5 mph.
Saturday & Sunday: Sunny skies and partly cloudy nights. Highs 67 – 72 and lows 40 – 45 . Winds SW 5 – 10 mph.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

Today: Sunny then clear at night. Highs 59 and lows 23. Winds S 5 mph.
Saturday & Sunday: Sunny days and cloudy nights with a 20% chance of showers Sunday night. Highs 48 and lows 30. Winds W 10 – 15 mph G 25 Sunday.

FOR MONO COUNTY:

Today: Sunny with clear skies at night. Highs 59 – 69 and lows 16 – 26. Winds NW 10 mph.
Saturday & Sunday: Partly to mostly days and nights with a slight chance of showers Sunday night. Highs 45 – 50 and lows 25 – 30. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph G 30 Sunday.
