FORECAST: The Owens Valley, Mammoth and Mono County

FRIDAY 30-MAR-2012

Real nice weather today as ridging  briefly strengthens. Then things slide down hill fast as another low pressure system moves first thru Mono County then Inyo County later tonight and into Saturday. Very windy conditions will effect Mono County with a High Wind Watch in place for later tonight into Saturday afternoon. Rain then snow is likely Saturday into Sunday for Mono County. For the Owens Valley, a High Wind Watch is also in effect Saturday morning thru Saturday evening. Along with this there will be a slight chance of rain showers on Saturday. The system clears the district on Sunday with dry and warming conditions thru Tuesday.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Mostly sunny then cloudy in the evening. Highs 70 – 75 and lows 44 – 49. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph.
Saturday & Sunday: Mostly sunny and very windy on Saturday then clouding up with a 20% chance of rain. Fair on Sunday. Highs 57 – 62 and lows 35 – 40. Winds S 30 – 40 mph G 60 Saturday afternoon.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

Today: Mostly sunny then partly cloudy at night. Highs 51 and lows 32. Winds S 10 – 15 mph G 25.
Saturday & Sunday: 90% chance of snow Saturday and Saturday night then 20% on Sunday. Highs 35 and lows 22. Winds SW 20 – 35 mph G 55 Saturday.

FOR MONO COUNTY:

Today: Partly cloudy.  Highs 57 – 67 and lows 34 – 44. Winds S 15 – 25 mph G 45 tonight.
Saturday & Sunday: A chance of rain and snow Saturday turning showery on Sunday. Highs 40 – 50 and lows 19 – 24. Winds SW 25 – 40 mph G 60 Saturday.
