SATURDAY April 28, 2012

First, there was no forecast yesterday due to a service outage with the Internet in this area.

High pressure continues to build over California, bringing dry conditions and temps just about normal thru the weekend. As next week progresses, a large storm system will impact the PACNW (say about Wednesday) but it will stay far enough north to only bring gusty winds and a drop in temps to our area. Thereafter, continued dry and mild thru Friday.

WEDNESDAY April 25, 2012

One, two punch to effect our district today and tomorrow.  First a closed low from the south will feed sub-tropical moisture into our area today, giving us a chance at rain showers and light higher elevation snow. Then a fast moving cold front from the north will kick through on Thursday, continuing the trend of light rain and mountain snow. Snow levels look to remain on the high side, say 8,000 feet or so. After that, on Friday an offshore trough will keep a slight chance of showers over the weekend in Mono County. The Owens Valley will see partly cloudy to mostly clear skies thru the weekend.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Cloudy with t-storms and rain showers likely late this evening. Highs 72 – 77 and lows 49 – 54. Winds S 10 -20 mph.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of rain showers then clearing. Highs 67 – 72 and lows 42 – 47. Winds SW 15 – 20 mph.
