SUNDAY 01-APR-2012
Well, yesterdays system was a quick hitter. It dropped about 5 inches of snow on Mammoth Mountain and 3 inches on June Mountain. Otherwise little moisture fell in the valleys, particularly the Owens Valley. What the district got was very gusty winds as the front passed thru. The Alabama Hills was erratically jumping from 4 mph to 50 mph and everything in between, mid afternoon to early evening. For today, breezy conditions (but not as windy as yesterday) will prevail with temps running below normal and an isolated shower possible in the upper elevations. Tomorrow, weak high pressure builds in with temperatures adjusting upwards.
