“Giving you the reasons why Eastern Sierra weather happens.”

SATURDAY June 02, 2012

Gradual cool down starts today as low pressure bumps up against the ridge. Now temps will still be on the high side, but by Monday things really start to escalate downward. All due to an abnormally cool system digging southward, then across the state on Monday and Tuesday. There is some moisture with this system and snow levels look to be about 8,000 feet. We are talking about light snow here. The bigger problem will be the winds later Monday into Tuesday. Gusts to 40 mph are expected in areas along hwy 395 and the fire danger will be HIGH. Temps then increase Wednesday as the system kicks eastward. More on all this later.
