FORECAST: The Owens Valley, Mammoth and Mono County

An unseasonably strong and cool upper trof will make its way thru Central California later today and into the evening. This will bring a chance of moisture to Mono County and windy conditions to both counties. The Owens Valley has a High Wind Warning from 2 pm today until 9 am Tuesday morning. Mono County has a Wind Advisory from 11 am this morning until 11 pm this evening. Behind the exiting system tomorrow, temps will plummet some 15 – 20 degrees below normal. Temperature recovery will be gradual beyond Tuesday, returning to average on Friday.
FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:
Today: Mostly sunny and windy this afternoon. Highs 90 and lows 55. Winds SE 25 – 30 mph G 45 in the pm.
Tuesday: Mainly sunny and breezy. Highs 73 – 76 and lows 50. Winds NW 15 – 25 mph.
FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:
Today: Partly sunny becoming mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers this evening. Highs 58 and lows 28. Winds SW 25 – 30 mph G 45 in the pm.
Tuesday: Mainly sunny with clear skies at night. Highs 48 and lows 28. Winds W 15 – 25 mph G 30.
FOR MONO COUNTY:
Today: Becoming mostly cloudy and windy with a chance of snow showers later in the evening. Highs 64 – 74 and lows 28 – 33. Winds SW 25 – 35 mph G 55 in the pm.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy. Highs 49 – 54 and lows 23 – 28. Winds W 10 – 20 mph G 35.
