FORECAST: The Owens Valley, Mammoth and Mono County

Temperatures to cool ever so slightly today in response to low pressure passing thru the PACNW. However it will still be warm with expected daytime highs in the Owens Valley around 96 degrees. Relative Humidities will continue to run in the single digits with Independence seeing 5% on Monday. Extreme Fire Danger is an obvious issue here. On Wednesday (the first day of summer) temps kick up to 99 degrees as high pressure presents itself. By Thursday, an upper level trof will make up camp along the West Coast and remain there thru the weekend. Energy rotating off that trof will drop temps back to or below seasonal norms by the weekend.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Mainly sunny. Highs 96 and lows 56. Winds NW 6 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Highs 99 and lows 58. Winds SE 5 – 10 mph.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

Today: Mostly sunny. Highs 74 and lows 46. Winds W 5 – 15 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny with mostly clear in the evening. Highs 77 and lows 49. Winds SE 5 – 10 mph.

FOR MONO COUNTY:

Today: Clear.  Highs 75 – 85 and lows 38 – 48. Winds W 10 – 15 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny. Highs 79 – 84 lows 41 – 51. Winds SW 10 mph.
