MONDAY August 06, 2012
Two things weather wise this week. That strong mid west ridge builds westward, bringing above normal temperatures to our entire district. Along with this, that ridge will drag some moisture with it, bringing a slight chance of thunderstorms to the mountains of the Owens Valley and Mono County. This thunderstorm threat will last off/on through this weekend, particularly in Mono County.
For the Owens Valley:
Today: Partly cloudy. Highs 99 / lows 57. Winds SE 5 – 10 mph.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy with a chance of a stray thunderstorm. Highs 100 / lows 59. Winds SE 10 – 15 mph.
For the Town of Mammoth Lakes:
Today: Partly cloudy with isolated thunderstorms possible. Highs 82 / lows 46. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy 20% chance of thunderstorms. Highs 83 / lows 52. Winds SW 5 – 10 mph.
For Mono County:
Today: A few clouds with an isolated thunderstorm possible. Highs 83 – 93 / lows 39 – 49. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny becoming partly cloudy, afternoon thunderstorms possible. Highs 84 – 94 / lows 40 – 50. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph.
