Temps bump up a few degrees today along with a chance of showers and t-storms over the Crest this afternoon and evening. This due to a weak shortwave embedded in the ridge (this is called a dirty ridge). This system will also start a slight cooling trend over the weekend. Then a secondary and stronger system will push thru Northern California on Monday. This will bring a chance of showers over the Crest and drop temperatures Monday and Tuesday (s0me 10 – 15 degrees below today). Gusty winds are expected with this system as well.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Mostly sunny.  Highs 95 – 100 and lows 64 – 69. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph G 20 in the PM.
Saturday & Sunday: Mostly sunny. Highs 93 – 96 and lows 63 – 68. Winds SW 5 – 10 mph.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

Today: 30% chance showers and t-storms later today and thru the evening. Highs 74 and lows 47. Winds W 5 – 15 mph.
Saturday & Sunday: Mostly sunny. Highs 71 and lows 46. Winds W 5 – 15 mph.

FOR MONO COUNTY:

Today: Becoming partly cloudy with a chance of showers and t-storms afternoon and evening.  Highs 81 – 91 and lows 42 – 52. Winds W 10 – 15 mph.
Saturday & Sunday: Partly cloudy with a chance of afternoon t-storms thru Sunday. Highs 77 – 82 and lows 40 – 50. Winds W 10 – 15 mph.
