FORECAST: The Owens Valley, Mammoth and Mono County

MONDAY June 25, 2012

A humongous upper low is still centered just off the Oregon Coast and is spinning in place. This is the system that has brought cooler than normal temps to our district along with windy conditions. The flow around this low literally covers the entire west coast and a good part of the Western Canadian coast as well. This system sits unchanged through today and then begins to lift out into Washington State on Tuesday. Thereafter we will see a warming trend with temps mostly back to normal by Thursday.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Sunny. Highs 90 and lows 50. Winds SW 10 – 20 mph G 30.
Tuesday: Sunny. Highs 89 and lows 49. Winds SE 10 – 15 mph.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

Today: Sunny. Windy. Highs 67 and lows 42. Winds S 15 – 25 mph G 40.
Tuesday: Sunny with clear skies at night. Highs 66 and lows 44. Winds SW 5 – 15 mph.

FOR MONO COUNTY:

Today: Mostly clear. Windy. Highs 70 – 80 and lows 36 – 46. Winds SW 20 – 30 mph G 40.
Tuesday: Sunny. Less windy. Highs 68 – 78 and lows 3 – 43. Winds S 10 – 15 mph.
