FORECAST: The Owens Valley, Mammoth and Mono County

SUNDAY July 08, 2012

Triple digits for the Owens Valley and 90s for parts of Mono County this week, as strong high pressure moves westward. As the airmass heats up, this will enhance mid level moisture and continue to give a slight chance of thunderstorms over the mountains Tuesday thru Friday. For Mt. Whitney I have upped the chance of t-storms to 30% on Wednesday, but of an isolated nature with mostly cumulus build ups expected.

In Starlite we received showers both yesterday and overnight (and no lightning). And it’s still raining. Although we’ve exceeded my personal allowance for gray and wet days/year (2),the much needed moisture is welcome.
